What usually goes wrong
- Somebody tries to migrate a half-worked accounts receivable ledger, and neither system is now the source of truth.
- Authorizations arrive without their remaining unit balances, so every one has to be re-keyed.
- Historical clinical data comes across as raw rows with the program structure gone, and the graphs stop being readable.
- Credential expiry dates arrive as uploaded documents rather than dates, so alerting does not work for another quarter.
- Nobody agreed who owns the old system during the overlap, and it gets switched off too early.
